"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"
Me - Kathy Likes Pink
I left my previous job here in Tiny Town as Church Secretary last May. In June I began work as Church Secretary at a much larger and farther-away church. I enjoy the work, and it's fast paced so the days go by quickly. I work 9am to 2pm (although I often stay later than 2pm as there's so much to get done).
For several reasons, my previous church employer has not yet filled the job I left. The new church year is coming up fast (September 7) and things are starting to get a little dicey without a secretary. To make a long story even longer (sorry!) we've worked out an arrangement where I will do the secretarial work in late afternoon after I leave my first job.
My life is a little busy these days. I enjoy the work (all of it!) and so far feel like it's going well - other than answering the phone at job # 2 as "First Congregational Church" when in fact I was at "First Parish Church". Adding to the mental confusion, before moving to New England I worked for a bank out west called First Interstate Bank, and that slips out every now and then when I answer the phone at one of the churches. (Why must all my employers be named FIRST yada yada??????)
My posts have been a little few and far between - hopefully I will soon be back in the swing of things! My dear readers reader, I hope you will stay with me while I work at getting my time (and life!) in balance.

Wow, you are busy! Holy Moley! Take care of your self during the busy times.
You HAVE been missed - I was just thinking yesterday it's been a while since we've heard from you!
You sound awfully busy! Take care!
Busy, busy, busy! How do you have time to eat, never mind blog?!
When you get a chance (2 or 3 weeks from now) update on your construction!
Busy, man oh man, you are busy!! But more importantly, is the dumpster filled up yet??
p.s. THANK YOU so much for taking care of the kitties, while we were relaxing!
Wow, good luck with that! Yikes!
What you need is a piece of paper next to the phone with the name of the church on it so you can prompt yourself when you answer the phone!!
It's only bad when you answer your HOME phone, "Labor Relations". That's how I had to answer the phone at work. That's why I love retirement so much!!!!! No more labor relating.
At least you are doing something you enjoy. That is half the battle. Things will settle into a routine soon.
Take care of yourself.
